Ear candling, or Thermo Auricular Therapy is a safe, gentle and effective treatment to the ears.
While you lie comfortably on a couch the thin, hollow candles work on a chimney principle, gently drawing general impurities towards the surface and equalising pressure within the head and ears. The vapour, enriched with the herbs sage, St John's wort and camomile, circulates the ear canal protecting and soothing irritated areas. Blood circulation is stimulated during the process and energy and reflex points also. Any liquid wax is prevented from entering the ear by the filter.

The Treatment
Lying warm and comfortable on a couch, after an initial consultation, your ears and face will be gently massaged after the candles have burned safely. If you prefer a foot or hand treatment, just ask when prompted.
These delicate candles are made from linen (flax), cotton, chamomile, sage, St John's wort, beta carotene and honey. They have a filter and carry a C E certificate of safety. The ear is concerned with two functions: the sense of balance and movement and the sense of hearing. Common infections concern the outer (boils), middle (sinusitis) or inner ear (balance, vertigo, dizziness)
Treatment aims are to:
- Soften any hardened or compacted was in order to clear away (natural process follows) any excess.
- Drain any sinus congestion
- Balance the left and right labyrinth
- Cleanse any ear, nose or throat irritation
- Restore balance of mind, body and spirit
The treatment session involves consultation with the client to establish how troubling are symptoms and how long they have existed, the candling treatment, ear and face massage, or massage to feet or hands instead, period of relaxation at the end. Fertility and the speed of conception depend on many factors, some psychological, some physical and some nutritional. Reflexology works on the first two by inducing a state of profound relaxation thus reducing stress and secondly by balancing the endocrine system to normalise hormone production, so vital for the reproductive process. Nutritional advice for both partners ensures that the critical B vitamins and minerals such as zinc and iron are in adequate supply prior to conception which also helps the pregnancy and post natal period.
All in all this is a very sound 'product', particulary when compared with expensive alternatives, and one to be recommended as a FIRST port of call rather than a last resort.
